Victor Baldock's was the only nomination recieved for the role of Club President but the Committee have deemed him suitable for the position so there will be no need for a ballot to take place. Due to this new appointment Victor stepped down from his position as Chairman at our last meeting and Steve Duffell was elected as his replacement. (6 September 2009)
It is with great sadness that I must inform readers of the passing of Mrs Philippa Stone, one of our club's life members, on 8 August. Her funeral will be held at St George's Church, Jumper's Road, Christchuch, Dorset, BH23 2JR on Tuesday 18 August at 2pm. Her family have requested that either flowers be sent to the church or donations be made to the RSPCA in her memory. (13 August 2009)
Our stand at the Waltham Abbey Town show was a huge success with the public flocking to our tent. We gained one new member for the club and gave everyone a chance to enjoy a bunny cuddle. The two competitions also went down well with the public. Please click here for photos of the weekend. (29 June 2009)
Steve Alderman has announced he will be retiring from his position of President at our next AGM. Steve has been our president for 20 years and feels it is now time he stepped down to make way for a new face. The Committee has decided to hold a ballot of members to fill this vacany. The new President will officially take office at our next AGM. Nomination forms can be downloaded here. (1 May 2009)
Supreme Petfoods have very kindly donated a large amount of products to the club which will be
awarded as prizes to the winners of the Junior, Novice and Pet classes in our Members Shows throughout 2009. (17 February 2009)
Following our AGM held on 23 November we can announce that entry fees will remain the same for 2009, but will now be capped at a maximum of £7.50 per open show. All officers were re-elected to their positions so there will be no changes to our Committee. (24 November 2008)
As of the Autumn Show we will be introducing a Pet Class to our Members Show schedule. As per BRC rules rabbits can only be entered into this class if they are not entered into any Open shows on the same day. Rabbits that are entered in the Members show ONLY (such as those belonging to our non-BRC members) will therefore still be eligible. (31 July 2008)
As of the Spring Show, held on 13 April, Mick Weeks resigned from his position on our Committee. We would like to thank him for all his hard work and the help us over the last 3 years. In order to keep the Committee Membership at full strength Steve Duffell (an already active and committed club member) was co-opted on as Mick's replacement. (13 April 2008)
Following our AGM on 25 November we would like to advise members that the club will not be awarding prize money in 2008. Entry fees will remain the same at the moment, but the Committee will be reviewing these during the year. We can confirm that all other club arrangements will stay the same for 2008 with the exception of the Committee Membership. (26 November 2007)
As of the Autumn Show we will be introducing a Novice Class to our Members Show schedule. In accordance with the BRC’s definition of a Novice class it will be open to all exhibitors who have not yet won a first card at a BRC Open show. Anyone who is unsure whether or not they will be eligible for this class should mention it to us when entering and we will be able to help you work out if your rabbits can be included or not. (31 July 2007)
The club will now be providing Sale pens at our YSS, Autumn Show and ASS, to be booked with entries in addition to our Auction Class. Cost will be £1 per pen (no more than 1 adult rabbit or 3 babies per pen). (15 June 2006)
